太阳想到了自己对于人类的生活起着重大的作用，便整天把自己用黑布遮掩着。从此，世界一片黑暗。人类见到这一情景，恍然大悟，就整天求着太阳，太阳毫不心软。最后，病危的地球拖着重重的身子去恳求母亲，太阳才放手。
人类意识到自己所犯的错是多么愚蠢，想尽力弥补地球。地球的病情有所好转，等到地球大病初愈，见到的是一派生机。
