　　The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.

　　Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.

　　Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friends hip is likely to be formed.

　　What I want to stress is that each of us should listen to others. Show your respect and n ever stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinio ns even though you dont like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.

Time must not be wasted if you want to do your bit in your remaining years or acquire some useful knowledge to improve yourself, so that your life may turn out to be significant and fruitful.So, chose to work hard in your youth.

　　Friends, speak up your mind, and do what you want to do!In short, hurry up to give full play to the life bestowed on you by Nature, and hold aloft a torch to offer a little light to the world, for, otherwise, your young limbs will begin to rot, your brilliant brain will be dulled and your enthusiasm will cool off. 　　The past two days are special for the 7.23 million examinees and their parents. It is the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao in Chinese). Based on the current education system in China, the result of the two day exam greatly impacts the future of any students in China. The score will decide whether you can receive college education. For most places in China, only half of the students are eligible for college education (only 3.40 million will be admitted to colleges in 20xx) and the rest has to start work after high-school. In cities like Beijing and Shanghai, students are lucky enough to have a much higher ratio (more than 70%) to enter colleges.

　　Tsinghua, Peking University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University are among the first class in China. But only very few people can go there.

　　To enter a college or not, or to enter a good college or not directly impact the first offer they can get after graduate and impact their career. So it is the most critical time for students.

　　Isaac recorded the "No Honking During Gaokao" sign. I saw the same sign near Henan Rd. and Zhaojiabang Rd.. Not only honking is not allowed. All construction sites around schools were ordered to work in limited time in the recent 10 days. Thousands of policemen are working around schools to make sure there is no noise or traffic jam during the two important days. Taxi drivers even offer free ride to transport examinees and their family.

　　On may 12th, 20xx , when the earthquake attacked wenchuan , all chinese--doctors, nurses , soldiers and many many volunteers gave their hands to provide warmth and hope .

　　At 9：17 ,may 8th 20xx . the olympic flame reached the highest point in the world ,the peak of mt qomolangma that time we told the world we made it and beijing welcome you.

　　Chinese people worldwide shared tears and joys for the historical occasion , we are so excited.

　　That moment we are full of hope. the hope is from the confidence of ourselves. the olympic games have been held successfully in china, shenzhouvii has successfully flown into space, we have set up the satellite called change to the moon! we are proud of china. we have confidence .

　　However, we have still faced up to many chanllenges. as one of the developing countries in asian countries,the ecnomic crisis have some effect on our the same time we still have problems on food,medicare,welfare,relgion and so on.

　　Under these circumstances we student should work harder,righter？with our excellent performance, excellent work by our great motherland, the mother and the motherschool returns, right？a few days later we will celebrate our 80th birthday of chongqing love chongqing university, not only because of its beautiful scenery, but also because of the long histoy and academic gqing university is one of diamonds our great mother.

　　As everyone knows, People can get much information through the Internet. Meanwhile, people are also clearly aware of its disadvantages, but some children don’t realize they sometimes make friends with bad people online.

　　In my opinion, people can use the Internet to make friends, download useful materials and go shopping online. It’s really very helpful.

　　However, there are also many disadvantages about the Internet. If you can’t use it correctly, it may be harmful to you. In junior middle school, I was once crazy about playing online games and I couldn’t control myself.

　　As a result, my study results were getting from bad to worse. Besides, if you believe whatever your friends say online, you will be cheated by them some day, I think.

　　As a student, we should spend more time on studying and less time on the Internet. Of course, if we can control our time of surfing the Internet, we surely can use it after school.
