thank you very much for choosing to e in such a cold night。today my topicis about choice and process。a research shows that a man has to make 73 choicesone day。with so many choices one day，people easily get so confused and afraidof making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part oflife。 in my opinion，the following part is of much more importance than thechoice。 there is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life，which the process makes the difference。
life is a box of chocolate，you never know what you will get。 forrest gumpmade no decision by and for himself but he acplished great success with hisstrong will in the process。 the process is not the road itself but the attitudesand feelings，the caution，courage and persistance we have as we encounter newexperience and unexpected obstacles。 take myself as an example，i changed mymajor when i became a postgraduate。 after the choice，days have been harsh forme。i cannot understand the new lessons at all。 for they are closely related tomathmatics which i learned nothing about before。 however wuth the belief thatthis is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself，ipersisted。 i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life。gradually i could understand some parts and even found mathsinteresting。moreover，i learned to act instead of plaining。 in retrospect，thechoice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the pastfour months bees an unforgetable experience in my life。
no matter what the choice is，enjoy the process。 in the process，yourpotential will be inspired and new discoveries，improvement and progress will eto you。 these are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you seeit。these make your life colorful。

I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! my topic isOpportunities and Challenges。
First，I would like to know，what does your destiny offer you? Happiness，wisdom，a strong body or something else。 If I had asked this question topresident Nixon，he would probably had said，”Our destiny offers not the cup ofdespair，but the chalice of opportunity。”
Needless to say，one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the20xx Olympic Games。 Till now，we have used two sevenths of the preparation time。How much changes have you seen? New roads，new subway lines，public-exercisingequipments with beautiful colors，large blocks of grass fields，and also lots ofmodern gyms which are under construction。
Other than those，there are even more good effects brought to us by theOlympic Games that cannot be seen directly。 For example，more and more peoplewill get to know China。 I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attractthem strongly。 And the games will also do good to the economy and environment，for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness ofenvironmental protection is being strengthened。 What is more，Olympic Games givea unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youthwith the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit。 Now that we have seen so manyadvances，could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China。 But I think everyoneshould use some time to think of this question，”Does the Olympic Games have anyspecial meaning to you?”
For us，I mean the Chinese youth，20xx Olympic Games is a tremendous gift。Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying thelove given to us 。The society is just like a ship，and in our dreams the captainis waving his hand and saying ”Hey! secondly，the temptations。 the college serves us a more relaxed environmentmixed with other temptations such as the internet，alcohols and so on。 what’smore，the college teachers won’t pel you to study like before，you doze off orplay cell phone in class，and you flee up the morning class because you get uptoo late。 such too frequent behaviors will cripple your passion and enthusiasmtowards life，so it is essential for us to resist these temptations and insistpursuing our own goals。
thirdly，the balance between study and work。 most of us will choose to takea part time job to earn the extra money or just to exercise ourselves。 but it issignificant to keep a relatively balanced relationship between them since ialways regard the study as our main task，so my principle is adjusting work tofollow the schedule of study。
in conclusion，whatever issues we meet or miseries we suffer from，confrontthe hash reality head on，what we can do is remembering the past，living in thepresent and looking forward to the future。
