I was one of the only kids in college who had a reason to go to the P.O. box at the end of the day, and that was mainly because my mother has never believed in email, in Facebook, in texting or cell phones in general. And so while other kids were BBM-ing their parents, I was literally waiting by the mailbox to get a letter from home to see how the weekend had gone, which was a little frustrating when Grandma was in the hospital, but I was just looking for some sort of scribble, some unkempt cursive from my mother.
And so when I moved to New York City after college and got completely sucker-punched in the face by depression, I did the only thing I could think of at the time. I wrote those same kinds of letters that my mother had written me for strangers, and tucked them all throughout the city, dozens and dozens of them. I left them everywhere, in cafes and in libraries, at the U.N., everywhere. I blogged about those letters and the days when they were necessary, and I posed a kind of crazy promise to the Internet: that if you asked me for a hand-written letter, I would write you one, no questions asked. Overnight, my inbox morphed into this harbor of heartbreak -- a single mother in Sacramento, a girl being bullied in rural Kansas, all asking me, a 22-year-old girl who barely even knew her own coffee order, to write them a love letter and give them a reason to wait by the mailbox.
Well, today I fuel a global organization that is fueled by those trips to the mailbox, fueled by the ways in which we can harness social media like never before to write and mail strangers letters when they need them most, but most of all, fueled by crates of mail like this one, my trusty mail crate, filled with the scriptings of ordinary people, strangers writing letters to other strangers not because theyre ever going to meet and laugh over a cup of coffee, but because they have found one another by way of letter-writing.
But, you know, the thing that always gets me about these letters is that most of them have been written by people that have never known themselves loved on a piece of paper. They could not tell you about the ink of their own love letters. Theyre the ones from my generation, the ones of us that have grown up into a world where everything is paperless, and where some of our best conversations have happened upon a screen. We have learned to diary our pain onto Facebook, and we speak swiftly in 140 characters or less.
But what if its not about efficiency this time? I was on the subway yesterday with this mail crate, which is a conversation starter, let me tell you. If you ever need one, just carry one of these. (Laughter) And a man just stared at me, and he was like, "Well, why dont you use the Internet?" And I thought, "Well, sir, I am not a strategist, nor am I specialist. I am merely a storyteller." And so I could tell you about a woman whose husband has just come home from Afghanistan, and she is having a hard time unearthing this thing called conversation, and so she tucks love letters throughout the house as a way to say, "Come back to me. Find me when you can." Or a girl who decides that she is going to leave love letters around her campus in Dubuque, Iowa, only to find her efforts ripple-effected the next day when she walks out onto the quad and finds love letters hanging from the trees, tucked in the bushes and the benches. Or the man who decides that he is going to take his life, uses Facebook as a way to say goodbye to friends and family. Well, tonight he sleeps safely with a stack of letters just like this one tucked beneath his pillow, scripted by strangers who were there for him when.
These are the kinds of stories that convinced me that letter-writing will never again need to flip back her hair and talk about efficiency, because she is an art form now, all the parts of her, the signing, the scripting, the mailing, the doodles in the margins. The mere fact that somebody would even just sit down, pull out a piece of paper and think about someone the whole way through, with an intention that is so much harder to unearth when the browser is up and the iPhone is pinging and weve got six conversations rolling in at once, that is an art form that does not fall down to the Goliath of "get faster," no matter how many social networks we might join. We still clutch close these letters to our chest, to the words that speak louder than loud, when we turn pages into palettes to say the things that we have needed to say, the words that we have needed to write, to sisters and brothers and even to strangers, for far too long. The U.S. Air Force Pararescue Jumper was founded in 1942. Pararescuemen task with recovery and medical treatment of personnel in humanitarian and combat environments. Their motto, "That Others May Live," reaffirms the PJ's commitment to save lives and self-sacrifice.
They had played a great role in many rescue missions, which makes difficult tasks become easier. Over the years, they have achieved many honors from the U.S. government. Why are there so many achievements? In my opinion, there are two reasons. On the one hand, they are brave; on the other hand, their equipment is advanced.
Today I will focus on introducing their equipments.
Firstly, I will introduce the helmet to you. Pararescuemen have three types of helmets. This picture shows us MICH2000. This is MICH2001. This is MICH2002.
The next part is about the Combat dress. Here I will mainly show you some pictures of Pararescuemen wearing PCU and FORG. This is the first picture about Pararescuemen who wear PCU in the jump training. This is
another picture of Pararescuemen wearing FORG soar in the sky.
Then, I will introduce the FOOTWEAR. It is the new development of Belleville 600. It’s danner. It’s PJ members wearing ASOLO FSN 95.
After we knew the helmet and shoes, the FOOTWEAR BODY ARMOR and VEST are also very important for Pararescuemen.
Now let's learn about them. PJ mainly adopts the products which are made by Paraclete company and EAGLE company. This picture shows RAV. This picture shows HPC. It’s rrv. PJ members wearing H-H and PCU are shooting. It’s AWS. It’s Safariland BODY ARMOR. It’s SURVIVAL. It’s PACA.

As we all know china is the country that the nation’s economy and people’s living standard are growing rapidly. And we are someone here, in the East, in Asia, in the whole world. That's because our Chinese,our hearts always go with love and hope.This love and this hope is from the heart of every chinese.It is deep and strong.
On May 12th, , when the earthquake attacked Wenchuan , all Chinese--doctors, nurses , soldiers and many many volunteers gave their hands to provide warmth and hope .
At 9:17 ,May 8th 2015 . The Olympic flame reached the highest point in the world ,the peak of Mt
Qomolangma .At that time we told the world we made it and beijing welcomame you.
Chinese people worldwide shared tears and joys for the historical occasion , we are so excited.
That moment we are full of hope. The hope is from the confidence of ourselves. The Olympic Games have been held successfully in China, ShenzhouVII has successfully flown into space, We have set up the satellite called Change to the moon! We are proud of China. We have confidence .
However, we have still faced up to many chanllenges. As one of the developing countries in Asian countries,the ecnomic crisis have some effect on our motherland.At the same time we still have problems on food,medicare,welfare,relgion and so on.
Under these circumstances we student should work harder,righter? With our excellent performance, excellent work by our great motherland, the mother and the motherschool returns, ???right? A few days later we will celebrate our 80th birthday of chongqing uniwersity.We love chongqing university, not only because of its beautiful scenery, but also because of the long histoy and Academic atmosphe.Chongqing university is one of diamonds our great mother.
China is wonderful. China is changing every day. China is full of talented people . China is full of friendly people. China is full of hardworking people. We are all from China. Let's celebrate China. Let's be proud of who we are. Let's love ourmotherland.Let us smile and speak loudly to the world 2015, we can do it ! Let's cheer for our motherland.

i once came across an american tourist. she said， ―china has a history of five thousand years， but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago， china took the lead in the world， and now it is the us that is leading.‖ my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we‘re still a developing nation， but it doesn‘t mean that we can despise ourselves. we have such a long-standing history， we have such abundant resources， we have such intelligent and diligent people， and we have enough to be proud of.
reasons to say proudly： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again， for our problems are big， but our ambition is even bigger， our challenges are great， but our will is even greater.
i am chinese. i have inherited black hair and black eyes. i have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure， that wherever i go， whatever i do， i shall never forget that i am chinese!

At present, with the improvement of people's living standard, more and more people go out to travel. However, while tourists enjoy the beautiful scenery, they also destroy it. There are many uncivilized behaviors, such as spitting, littering, and scribbling on walls and so on.
Whether these behaviors are intentional or not, they have had a harmful influence on our cities, even on our country. For one thing, visitors would not be willing to come to the spot again owing to others' uncivil deeds, which is a strike to the development of the local tourism. For another, some uncivil phenomena directly lead to the damage to scenic spots that are of great value.
To sum up, uncivilized behaviors have influenced a lot on the images of our cities and our country. Therefore， we need to take some actions to stop those uncivilized behaviors. The cities where we are living are our homes so that everybody should shoulder the responsibility to be civilized.

Before foreign guests, we should have an easy manner and behave politely and warm-heartedly. In public places, such ugly behaviors as uproar, pushing or squeezing together, spitting and so on should be determinedly forbidden. In a sense, each of us will not simply stand for ourselves but stand for China. Therefore, boys and girls, let’s do it well right now and the eyes of the world are to on us!

er, nowadays we often
confront confidence crisis such as cheating, overcharging, fake commodities and so on. I think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. The reasons can be listed as follows.
Firstly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.
Secondly, honesty, which is the traditional virtue of the Chinese people, can make our life easier and more goodliness.
Thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. A case in point is that Singapore, a society featuring trustworthiness and integrity, has a comparatively low criminal rate. Responsibility can be understood in many ways. For the parents, they have had the
responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their baby. For teachers, both in kindergartens and colleges, they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students, that is to say, teachers are the second parents of children somewhile. For us, as a friend of others, it is our responsibility to help our friends when they are in trouble or faced with difficulties.
Each one has the different responsibility based on their roles ,but we must take it for granted that we are responsible for the society.

Three year ago， I weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life。 Like always failing my P。E examinations， like always being laughed at by girls， like being terrified to speak in public。 It was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself。 She said “ My dear， if you can’t change you figure， why not treat it as your own style。 So I began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking。 By choosing to change my outlook on life， I developed the confidence to make a difference and finally I found a totally new world。

first， i would like to know， what does your destiny offer you？ happiness， wisdom， a strong body or something else。 if i had asked this question to president nixon， he would probably had said，”our destiny offers not the cup of despair， but the chalice of opportunity。”
needless to say， one of the biggest opportunities given to china is the 2008 olympic games。 till now， we have used two sevenths of the preparation time。 how much changes have you seen？ new roads， new subway lines， public—exercising equipments with beautiful colors， large blocks of grass fields， and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction。
other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by the olympic games that cannot be seen directly。 for example， more and more people will get to know china。 i’m sure the mysterious chinese culture will attract them strongly。 and the games will also do good to the economy and environment， for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened。 what is more， olympic games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of chinese youth with the olympic values and the olympic spirit。 now that we have seen so many advances， could you even imagine us losing the holding rights？
i’ve already said a lot about the olympics and china。 but i think everyone should use some time to think of this question， ”does the olympic games have any special meaning to you？”
for us， i mean the chinese youth， 2008 olympic games is a tremendous gift。 because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying the love given to us 。the society is just like a ship， and in our dreams the captain is waving his hand and saying ”hey！ come here and take the helm！ ”how charming his voice is， but we have never heard of it in our true life。 this morning， however， when we wake up， we will see the olympic games waving its hand。 after chewing， most of us will have at least one plan about what to do for the olympic games。 and mine is to be a “comforter” ————that is someone who will give comfort to others。

“work hard and your dream will come true.” not long ago，one of my primary school teachers was ill. she wanted me to take her place for two weeks. i was glad but nervous. my father said to me，“this is a good chance. seize it! i wish you success!” when i came into the classroom，the children were very happy. i introduced myself to them. soon，i got on well with them. they all liked me and i loved them. with my father and headmaster's help，i did the work very well. now，i often miss those lovely children.
