不是清泉，是天上虹;
揉碎在浮藻间，

寻梦?撑一支长篙，

Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Quietly I wave good-bye
To the rosy clouds in the western sky.
The golden willows by the riverside
Are young brides in the setting sun;
Their reflections on the shimmering waves
Always linger in the depth of my heart.
The floating heart growing the sludge
Sways leisurely under the water;
In the gentle waves of Cambridge
I would be a water plant!
That pool under the shade of elm trees
Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky;
Shattered to pieces among the duck weeds
Is the sediment of a rainbow-like dream?
To seek a dream?
Just to pole a boat upstream
To where the green grass is more verdant
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
And sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.

创作背景
此诗作于徐志摩第三次旅欧的归国途中。时间是1928年11月6日，地点是中国海。但他这次重游康桥的时间，却是在7月底的一个夏天。他是在英国哲学家伯特兰·罗素家里逗留了一夜之后，事先谁也没通知，就在个晴朗的下午，一个人怀着砰砰直跳的激动心情，悄悄地到康桥来找他的英国朋友的。
所谓“康桥”，现在通译“剑桥”，即著名的剑桥大学所在地，是个风景秀丽的地方。因徐志摩年轻时曾在此读书、生活过，结识过许多英国朋友，故对此常怀有一股特殊的感情。遗憾的是，因他事先没有联系好，他所熟悉的英国朋友一个也不在，只有他所熟悉的康桥，在那里静静地等待着他。于是，他一个人就在他七八年前曾经生活过的每一块地方、每一个角落，静静地散起步来。那过去的一幕幕生活图景，又重新在他的眼前展现。
由于徐志摩当时比较忙，又赶着到达廷顿庄去会见另一位英国朋友，故未把这次感情的活动记录下来。直到他乘船离开马赛的归国途中，面对汹涌的大海和辽阔的天空，才展纸执笔，记下了这次重返康桥的切身感受。
作者简介
徐志摩（1897—1931），名章垿，初字槱森，后改字志摩。浙江海宁人。中国现代诗人、散文家，新月诗社成员、景星学社社员。曾留学欧美，先后在美国哥伦比亚大学、英国剑桥大学攻读政治、经济，获硕士学位。1921年开始写诗。1922年回国后历任北京大学、清华大学、大夏大学、中央大学等校教授，并参与主编《诗刊》《新月》等文学期刊。1931年因飞机失事去世。是“新月派”代表诗人。诗风纤浓委婉，大都咏叹爱情与梦幻，在艺术形式上对新诗的发展有重要影响。著有诗集《志摩的诗》《翡冷翠的一夜》《猛虎集》《云游》、散文集《落叶》《巴黎的鳞爪》《自剖》《秋》、小说集《轮盘》等。
