关于梭罗，我是很矛盾的。我在认定他有着老者的平和睿智的同时，脑中又时时会浮现出这样的.一个身影：一个孤独的孩子，独自漫步湖边或徜徉林中，没有惊慌，也不显无助;看着那蓬勃华丽的生长着一切，内心充满着喜悦，似乎他也参与了创造，他也可以随之生长起来。那份自在自得让他俨然成了山林之王;然而他又断不肯凌驾于万物之上的，他只想做自然永远的孩子。
是啊，他是自然的孩子，但这不是一个对世界的新奇叽叽喳喳叫嚣个不停的孩子。我常常惊诧于他的那份好奇与平静。他静静地打量着一切，不管是喧嚣的城市，还是静谧的山林。他静静地思考，思考着人类伟大的创造力，也思考他们唯我独尊的行径。他是人类的尊者。他以一颗安静而纯粹的心灵，以一颗高贵而智慧的头颅俯看着茫茫众生。他在工业革命初期便预见到了一两百年后的今天的现状,他关怀着人类，又蔑视着人类。他担心一切美好的事物都会随着人们功利目的下的发展而消逝，瓦尔登湖也将要成为记忆之湖。甚至记忆都会淡去，直至不复记忆。

梭罗是把瓦尔登湖当作情人来爱的吧。因为爱之深切，所以不容许破坏;而生活在文明社会里的我们，无非是想保存着一种清野的梦幻慰安自己罢了。所以梭罗便具有了独一无二的气质和迥异于常人的伟大。
