　　Legendsabout the origin of this festivity abound. One holds that over 3,000 years agosacrificial rites called La (腊) were held in the twelfth lunar monthwhen people offered up their preys to the gods of heaven and earth.

　　关于这个节日的`起源有很多种说法。有一种说法是大约3000年前，一种祭祀仪式叫做“腊”，会在农历十二月举行。人们向天上和地下的神献出他们的猎物。

　　The Chinesecharacters for prey (猎) and the twelfth month (腊 La) were interchangeable then, and ever since La has been used torefer to both. Since the festival was held on the eighth day of the Last month,people later appended the number eight (ba in Chinese), giving us the currentLaba.

　　“姐姐，姐姐，跟我玩呀！”哎，弟弟老是玩也不是办法，我要给他来个“幼儿园学前启蒙教育”，当他的启蒙教师，培训一下他的英语。也许他的天资不够高，但只要他“笨鸟先飞”，说不定就会赶上别人的哦！

　　说起“启蒙教育”，我还真的挺自豪的，因为那些杯子、衣服之类的`日常用品都是我教弟弟学会的，也算是“半个老师”。我本想教英语只要像了英语老师教我们那样，老师读一遍，学生跟着读一遍就学会了，没想到……哎，真是一波三折呀！

　　我拿来一块小黑板和几支彩色笔，让他坐着。“来，跟姐姐念‘A’。”“姐姐，我好渴，我要喝果汁。”“不行，你念会这个字母了，我就让你喝。”“哇……”（哭声）没办法，只好让他先喝个痛快了，喝完果汁他就会乖乖学吧，没想到他又要动我的作业本了，噼里啪啦……哎，太不乖了！

　　第二天，我又开始不厌其烦地教他，功夫不负有心人，终于有了进度。“来，跟姐姐念‘one’。”“one。”接着便是我的掌声了。在我的鼓励下，他学会“one”，“two”，“three”，“four”。只不过有时念“four”时会念错。（已经很不错了！）

　　没想到，当老师这么累，我不紧要教他知识，还得管他乖不乖，要不要喝茶。我现在终于知道老师的辛苦了。

　　这次我可是既教会弟弟英语又懂得老师的艰辛哟。在这里我也要奉劝各位淘气包们：不要再惹老师生气了，收敛一下吧！

　　一到家，爸爸随手指着墙上的字母表让我找“I”的.小写字母在那里。结果没有熟练背诵字母的我找来找去找不着，爸爸走过来揣了我一脚，大喝一声：“让你在这表上抄过三遍，又忘了？可真是出息大了！” 我继续对着字母表一个一个在心里默念，眼前一片白茫茫。过了好一会儿，我还是没找到，爸爸使劲指了指红笔写的三个“i ”揪揪我的耳朵：“林曦颜，我问你这是什么？”我一看傻眼了，像一只木偶一样呆在原地。

　　下回真是要认真点了。

　　我们来到房间里，我开始教爷爷最简单的英文单词。我这个小老师像模像样的从抽屉上拿出一张白色卡纸，在上面写了一五个英语单词，开始认真教读起来。最好笑的要数地三个英文单词的时候了。我用手指着“banana”这个英文单词，故意将小嘴的动作弄得很夸张，爷爷也跟着读起来。看着她那很一本正经的样子，我这个小老师该很敬业才是呀，要不然就太对不住奶奶了。于是，我提升了难度，把这个英文单词的'写法告诉了爷爷。只见爷爷握着钢笔笔，照葫芦画瓢的在本子上写下了“banana”，还不停地念着：“不拉了，不拉了……”我听了，不禁笑起来了。哈哈，爷爷快70岁的人，还想学英语，还学得这么投入，真是一件新的事。
