　　Energy shortage is a huge problem for modern society and it has a negative impact on people's daily life and economic development. Many elements account for energy shortage. Firstly rapid economic development prompts an increase of energy consumptions in different industries. Secondly population growth creates greater demands for household energy usage. Thirdly people have yet to develop the sense of energy conservation. Actually we can do a lot to save energy in daily life. Turn off lights and fans when nobody is in the room; design buildings with the concept of energy saving; use public transit instead of private cars in rush hours... It is very easy for us to do these things as long as we have the sense of energy conservation and we should do it right now! 能源短缺已经成为现代社会所面临的一个严重问题，而且它对于人们的日常生活和经济发展产生了负面影响。能源短缺有很多因素。首先，各行业经济的快速发展使得能源消耗也在增长，第二，人口增长也使每个家庭的.能源使用的需求也在增大，第三，人们的节能意识还有待提高。实际上我们可以在日常生活中做很多节省能源的事，房间里没人的时候关掉灯光和风扇，设计建筑时使用节能概念，在拥挤的时段选用公共交通而不是私家车......如果我们有节能意识，做这些事情会很容易，我们应该马上行动起来!

　　Our government is aiming to build a “conservation-oriented society” (节约型社会). I think it is every citizen's duty to achieve this goal.

　　As high students, what should we do?

　　We should focus our attention on details around ourselves. We should form the habit of saving water, especially when we brush our teeth and wash hands, and never leave water running unnecessarily. Meanwhile, we ought to save electricity. When we leave classrooms or our homes we should make sure that the light and some electrical equipments have been turned off. Do never make the light on in the daytime if unnecessary. We should also save our every piece of paper as well as other writing materials. What's more, we should offer to recommend our relatives and friends as well as our parents to save energy.
