look like / look the same都可表示"看起来很像"之意。look like是由不及物动词look+介词like构成的动词词组，后面需接一个宾语。若表示"某人（物）十分相像"可用very much修饰。如：
Lily looks like your sister very much. 莉莉看上去很像你妹妹。
look the same 是一个固定词组，表示主语所包含的两个或两个以上的事物看起来一样，主语一定是复数，其动词look不可能出现looks形式。look the same后面不再接其它成分，也不能用very much修饰。如：
Are you twins? You look the same. 你们是双胞胎吗？你们看起来很像。
当然，在某些句式及结构中，look like与look the same在表达上可相互转换。请比较：
She looks like her mother. / She and her mother look the same. 她看起来很像她母亲。
