1. deadly adj. & adv

(1) adj. 极其危险的,致命的,死气沉沉的

2. imaginary adj. 想象出来的,虚构的

13. contrary

(1) recover 作 “恢复,康复”解时,可做及物或不及物动词.

She recovered her health.

I think she will recover soon.

He has recovered from his bad cold and can go out tomorrow.

(2 ) recover 的过去分词可用作表语、,表示 “痊愈”

Are you completely recovered from your illness.

(3) recover 不是延续性动词,不能与表示时间段的时间状语连用.

(4) He recovered several months ago= It is several months since he recovered.= He has been recovered fir sever months.

19.free from….没有; 不受….损害

He wants to live a life entirely free from trouble.

Keep the table free from dirt by putting a cover over it.

free of 没有, 免交(受); 远离,摆脱
