Could you…？ Could you please…？请您……好吗？
Could I please…？我可以……吗？本句型用于请求允许做某事，语气较婉转、客气。其中句中含有some, something，不必变为any, anything。如：
Could I ask you some questions?
我可以问你一些问题吗？
Would you like something to eat?
你想要一些吃的东西吗？
Will you please give me a glass of water?
你可以给我一杯水吗？

appear在这作不及物动词，“出现，呈现”
She didn’t appear.
她没出现，她没来。
appear也可作系动词，意为“似乎，看来，显得”含义近似seem.
appear to do sth.
如：He appeared to be friendly to me.
他似乎显得对我很友好。
There appeared to be only one room.
似乎只有一个房间。
appear + adj（形容词）
You appeared all right when I left.
我离开时，你看起来不错。
They appeared happy.

take the place of…“代替……”“取代……”

instead of…复合介词，“代替……”“替……”“而不……”

sure：形容词，“肯定的，确信的”。
如：I’m sure that our team will win the game.

6. Robots can do many kinds of jobs.
机器人能做很多种工作。
Robots can do hard work.

（1）job“工作”可数名词
如：What’s your job?

Jobs are not easy to get.
工作不好找。
（2）work“工作”不可数名词
It’s hard work.
它是一项艰苦的工作。
I can’t find work in this town.
在这个镇上我不能找到工作。
（3）work“工作”动词
I work in a hospital.
我在一所医院里工作。
The kitchen fan doesn’t work.
厨房风扇不工作了。厨房风扇坏了。

昨天我在大街上走时，看到了飞碟。
while与when
while连词“当……时候”，“和……同时”引导时间状语从句。
一般指一段时间，从句与主句的谓语所表示的动作一般同时发生。
如：Please be quiet while I’m speaking to you.
在我对你们讲话时，请安静。
when既可指一个时间点，也可指一段时间，从句与主句的谓语动词所表示的动作或状态可以同时发生，也可以一先一后分别发生。如：
I was watching TV when the telephone rang.
当电话响时我正在看电视。
When I got to the station, the train had left.
当我到达车站时，火车已经离开了。

（1）be sure of（about）…对……有把握

（3）be sure that引导从句，其中that可省略。相信……

（4）be（not）sure + whether / if引导从句（不）确信是否……
I’m not sure whether they can come or not.
我不能肯定他们是否会来。
I’m not sure if there are UFOs.
我不能肯定是否有不明飞行物。
