5.Do you think it is good for animals to live in a zoo?

Why or why not?你认为动物生活在动物园里好吗?为什么好或为什么不好?

(1)be good for对…有益, Mike is good for your health.牛奶有益于你的健康。

(2)此句中 for为介词,意为“对…而言”, It’s easy for him to answer this question.对他而言回答这个问题很容易。

(3)此句中it是形式主语,后面的不定式 to live in a zoo 短语才是真正的主语,英语中当主语太长或太复杂时,常用it作形式主语来代替真正的主语,然后再用一个不定式把真正的主语放在句尾,以免整个句子显得头重脚轻。①It take two hours to walk there.走到那儿要花两个小时。②It’s bad for you to read in bed.躺在床上看书对你有害。

(4)在英语中问了一个观点,常用省略句why?来问为什么,或是相反的观点,就用Why not?来问为什么不。此处完整形式为:Why is it good or why is it not good?

6.They should be free.它们应当自由。

should是shall的过去式,但此处不为过去时,用作本意:应该,相当于情态动词,其后要接动词原形。You should do your homework every day.你每天应该做家庭作业。

7.I feel sorry for them. 我为他们感到难过。

feel sorry for… 为…感到难过

8.They are friendly to people. 他们对人很友好。

“对…友好”往往可以说:be friendly to…,be kind to或 be nice to.

9.No,let’s make it a little earlier. 不,我们早点儿吧!

(1)make在此处为:“约定”或“订”的意思,make an appointment约会

make a room订个房间。

(2)当先约定了一个时间,又不同意,想再早点或晚一点,就要用比较级a little earlier/later. a little常用来修饰比较级。表“稍…一点"之意。

【重点难点分析】

1.提建议和接受建议

(1)在英语中提建议,要有礼有节,常有以下句型:

① Shall we…? ② Why don’t you/we…? ③ Why not…? ④ Let’s… ⑤When/Where shall we… ⑥ What about…? 它们后面都接所建议的具体事件,用动词原形,如本单元出现的句子:① Shall we go to the zoo?我们去动物园吧? Why not meet a little earllier?为什么不早点见呢?Let’s meet outside the zoo gate.我们在动物园大门外见吧。 When/Where shall we meet?我们什么时候/在哪儿见?等等。第⑥个句型 what about后要接具体地点或时间,如接事件,动词要加ing.①What about half past nine?九点半怎样?② What about going to the park?去公园怎样?

(2)接受建议往往用:Good idea. Sure. OK. All right等,不接受建议往往说: No,Let’s…提出不同建议,-Shall we meet inside the zoo? 一No,let’s meet outside.

2.I hear there’s a dolphin show there.我听说那儿有海豚展。

(1)Show在此句中是名词,“展览”的意思。

show还可作动词,意为“出示给…看,展示。 show me your passport, please.请出示护照。

(2)hear是“听说,听见”之意,Listen to为“听…讲”之意。

3.Which animal lives in water?哪一种动物生活在水里。

What animals are dangerous?什么动物很危险。当用 Which提问时,往往指“哪一种”所以后面用单数animal.而用what提问时,表示“哪些”之意,所以后面用复数animals.

4.They have nothing to do every day.它们每天无事可做。

(1)nothing为否定词,所以此句为否定句,这样的词还有nobody无人。

There is nobody on the island.岛上没有任何人。

(2)to do是不定式作宾语 nothing的补足语,I have a lot of work to do.我有许多工作要做。

5. But I don’t think it’s good for animals to stay in cages.但我认为动物呆在笼子里不好。在英语中认为不会怎样,往往否定主句中的think,而不否定宾语从句。I don’t think he’ll come.我认为他不会来。不能说:I think he will not come.

6.Work must come first.工作第一。

7.How interesting!多有趣味!此句为省略感叹句,完全形式为 How interesting it is!感叹句的构成: how + adj. + 主语+谓语!或What + adj.+ n.+ 主语 + 谓语!① How beautiful the mountain is!这座山多美啊!What a clever monkey it is!它是一只多聪明的猴子呀!

4.复习语音

字母a在开音节中发[ei],在词尾是ay的组合中ay发[ei].

字母i在开音节中发[ai],字母y用作元音字母时,在开音节中读[ai].

字母组合oi, oy在单词中发[:].

分析: 答案为 B,what about后可接名词,但接动词要加-ing,变成动名词充当介词about的宾语。

解答:

分析: 答案为 C,提建议句型要么是 why don’t+主语+v原形?要么是why not+动词原形,不要主语,所以 C对。

正确答案是A。句意是:树上有几只鸟。

树上的树枝,树叶,果实在树上用on the tree,人在树上,鸟在树上,风筝在树上用in the tree。也可以说:树本身的部分用“on the tree”,树以外的东西用“in the tree”。
