一. 教学材料分析

本模块以家乡为题材,要求学生理解、掌握本模块中关于方位、位置等语言现象。本节课是一节阅读课,本单元是整个模块教学的第二单元。第一单元让学生初步谈论了有关城市的有关话题。第二单元承接了这一话题并在深度和广度上做了进一步的延伸和扩充。本课进一步谈论有关城市方位、人口、特色建筑等方面内容,以及训练和运用形容词的比较级。为第三单元的综合语言知识的复习和运用以及综合语言能力的培养作好铺垫。通过阅读本课使学生了解有关英、美国家主要城市及建筑物等相关知识。

二. 教学对象分析

本课授课对象是七年级学生,他们活泼好动,有着丰富的想象力和好奇心,对家乡话题充满兴趣。我设计了复述课文、当导游等活动,充分调动学生参与活动的积极性,使学生达到提高综合运用语言能力的目的。

三. 教学目标

1、知识与技能

A.语言知识目标

⑴词汇掌握本单元单词(east, south, north, west, university,

building, church, million, coast, region)基本含义并学会在特定的语境中运用单词来描述家乡;

⑵短语掌握 be famous for, in the south of, bigger and busier than, on the coast,a region of等等,并会用其描述家乡。

⑶语法 能够进一步掌握形容词比较级,并运用比较级对不同的城市、河流进行描述。

B. 语言技能目标

①听:通过反复地听该单元的短文训练,能听懂课文中关于家乡介绍的语言材料;

②说:通过小组合作、讨论所学语言材料,能依照课文所学语言表达方式,口头简单介绍自己的家乡;

③读:通过反复阅读该短文后,能够读懂有关家乡介绍的文章,并会获取有用信息;

④写:进行复述文章、当导游介绍家乡活动后,能够模仿课文的结构及句式,写自己家乡的短文。

C. 学习策略

(1) 培养学生的阅读能力、逻辑思维能力、发现细节信息理解文章的能力。

(2) 学会合作、讨论、交流, 掌握家乡介绍的方法。

2.过程与方法

通过pair work、 group work 、making a reporter、 being a guide 等活动来实现教学目标,提高学生学习英语的兴趣。

3.情感态度与价值观

通过阅读扩充学生对英、美国家的了解,培养其对英语学习的文化底蕴及学习兴趣。同时培养学生对自己国家、家乡了解及热爱。

了解英国、美国的主要城市、河流,开阔学生的视野。

Step1:Lead-in

教师活动:In this procedure, let students listen to a song about loving motherland. Ask students to look at the map of China and say where Shanghai is and compare Shanghai to own hometown. Let Students enjoy some beautiful pictures and lead them in the new topic “Module5 Unit2”.

T: Hello, everyone! Nice to see you again.

Ss: Nice to see you , too.

T: The first step of this period, let’s enjoy Song Zuying’s song “Love my motherland.”

Ss: Wow, it’s fantastic.

Show some pictures about hometown.

T: Ok, Look at the pictures about hometown on the screen. Are they beautiful?

Ss: Yes, they are very beautiful.

Show the map of China.

T: Look at the map. Where’s Shanghai?

Ss: It’s in the south of China.

T: Yes.Where’s Shanghai?

Ss: It’s in the east of China.

T: Yes. Is your hometown bigger than Shanghai?

Ss: No, it’s smaller than Shanghai.

T: Which do you like better, Shanghai or your hometown?

S1: I like Shanghai better.

T: Why?

S1: Because Shanghai is a big city. It has many tall buildings. It’s very beautiful.

S2: I like my hometown better because I think my hometown is very beautiful and I love my hometown very much.

T: Well done. We should love our hometowns and country.Do you want to introduce your hometown to others?

Ss: Yes, but we can’t introduce more information.

T: This class we are going to learn more information about introducing hometown. Do you want to learn more carefully?

Ss: Yes, of course.

T: Ok, now we are going to learn Module5 Unit2. Let’s read the title together.

Write the title of Unit2 on the blackboard.

[设计意图]:本活动属于热身运动,通过听音乐吸引学生的注意力,培养学生热爱自己的家乡和祖国的思想感情。再利用家乡美丽图片和地图回答问题,创设英语氛围,活跃课堂气氛,调动学生积极性,自然地导入本课话题。

Step2:Vocabulary

教师活动:In this procedure, ask students to look at the map of England and China and teach new words. Ask students to make a short dialogue in pairs.

Show a map of China to teach some key phrases 。

Eg. the capital of:

T: What’s the capital of China?

Ss: Beijing is the capital of China.

T: Hefei is the capital of Anhui. Guess the meaning of capital.

T: What’s the capital of the UK? What about the USA?

Show a map of England on the screen to teach new words.

T: Look at the screen. What’s this?

Ss: It’s a map of England.

T: Yes . There are some famous cities in England. Do you want to know them?

Ss: Yes.

T: Please look at the pictures to learn new words and read the new words after me. Ok, now we have known these cities .Can you find out their correct position in the map?

Ss: Yes.

T: Let’s make a short dialogue in pairs.

After a while, ask several pairs to act in class.

[设计意图] 通过看中国地图和英格兰地图,使学生灵活掌握四个方位词的表达方法,突破本课难点。同时通过创造的语境来呈现这单元里出现的新单词和重要词组。以情景来引导学生掌握好新单词和词组,使学生印象深刻,容易掌握,同时为学生听课文并进一步理解课文打下一定基础。

Step3:Listening

教师活动:In this procedure, ask students to listen to the passage and check the sentences True or False on the screen.

T: Beijing is the capital of China. Do you know the capital of England?

Ss:Yes, it’s London.

T:We have known some famous cities in England. Do you want to know more information about these cities?

Ss:Yes,of course.

T: First please listen to the tape with your books closed.It needs your careful listening. Write down what you hear. After listening two times, You’ll check the sentences True or False on the screen.

Step4: Reading

1.Scanning and skimming

In this procedure, ask students to read the passage quickly and choose a title for each photo.

T: Open your books, turn to page 28. Let’s read the passage quickly and choose a title for each photo.

2.Pair work

In this procedure, ask students to read the passage again and find more information in the passage.

T:Let’s read the passage again and answer the questions in Activity 3. Read slowly and carefully this time. After reading, work in pairs,ask and answer the questions.

After 5 minutes,ask several pairs to act in class.

3.Careful reading

In this procedure, ask students to read more carefully to find out some important and difficult sentences. Make sentences with the underlined words.

教师活动:In this procedure, ask students to be a guide and introduce their hometowns.

T: If you are a guide, some tourists come to visit your hometown, do you want to introduce your hometown for them?

Ss: Yes, of course.

T: Ok. Work in groups of four. One is a duide and the others are tourists. After a while, each group chooses one student to act in class. Let’s begin.

T: Are you ready?

Ss: Yes.

T: Who will give us the performance?

S1: I will try. Welcome to my hometown .It’s Juxing. Juxing is a countryside. It’s in the west of Hefei.It’s smaller than Hefei.It has a populationof 40 thousand people.There are many beautiful mountains and a long river in it….

T: Your performance is excellent.I think you are the greatest guides in the world.

教师活动:Sum up the language points in this class after studets sum up.

T:In this class, we have learnt some new words and useful expressions. What are they?

Ss: They are capital, church,north….

T: We have learnt to introduce our hometowns and country by pair work, group work, making a report and being a guide. After class read the passage again and again until you can retell it. I want to know your beautiful hometown very much, but I’m very busy. I can’t go to visit your hometown. What should I do?

Ss: We will write a composition called my hometown and country.

T: Yes. You are too clever. I’m looking forward to seeing what your hometown is like. I think you can do it well. Good -bye.

学生活动:Students sum up the main words and important sentences freely. After class retell the passage and write a composition about introducing hometown and country.

教学反思

我以新课程理念为依据进行教学设计和课堂活动。 本课我通过一首宋祖英《爱我中华》的歌曲和美丽的家乡图片,很自然的将学生引入本课“家乡”话题的学习氛围中,同时培养学生爱祖国爱家乡的思想感情。由于本课是阅读课,重在培养学生的阅读能力、逻辑思维能力、发现细节信息理解文章的能力。因此,我在本课教学中以情景教学、活动教学为主,充分利用现代化的电教手段创设情景,提高学生语言运用能力。在单词部分,主要通过图片和地图形象、直观地向学生介绍,通过问答法,让学生掌握新词并反复运用所学方位词,为下一步课文理解及语言表达做好铺垫。

对阅读材料的处理上,我先让学生听再根据所获得的信息判断句子正误,训练学生的听力能力和思维能力。让学生带着问题阅读,两人一组进行问和答活动,培养学生合作意识,帮助学生形成良好的学习策略,要求学生根据所给信息复述课文,更是培养学生注重阅读细节的能力,同时也为日后的写作奠定一定基础。让学生当导游介绍自己的家乡,激发学生表达的欲望,更是激发学习英语的兴趣。我的每一环节任务的设计都为学生提供了很好的学以致用的机会,广阔自由的发挥空间。教学中大量的语言实践活动,使学生在教师的指导下,通过感知、体验、实践、参与和合作等活动方式,实现任务的目标,并感受成功,获得自主的发展。
